Congratulations on surrendering your life to Christ! We are so excited that you have decided to follow Jesus. Find yourself asking, now what? Utilize this page to learn more about God, the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and next steps in your walk as a new believer.
Gospel simply means “good news”. The good news is that Jesus died on the cross in order to pay the penalty of our sin. Our sin formerly separated us from God but because of our faith in Jesus’ death and resurrection we can now have an intimate relationship with God.
Romans 5:8 - God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 6:23 - The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:1 - Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
When we place our faith in Jesus, we are adopted into the family of God. We are now children
of God. This means we have a loving father who will always take care of us. It also means we are no longer who we were before Christ, but rather we have a new identity. As we grow in our relationship with Christ, we will grow into the person God has created us to be.
1 Corinthians 5:17 - Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!
Ephesians 4:22-24 - You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put
on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.
1 John 3:1 - See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.
Baptism is the outward expression of our inward commitment to Jesus. Baptism symbolizes our
death and resurrection with Jesus. Our past is buried with Christ, and we are given a new life in
Christ. If you have put your faith in Jesus, then we are called to be baptized!
Matthew 28:19-20 - Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely, I am with you always, to the very end of the age.
1 Peter 3:21 - And this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also—not the removal of dirt
from the body but the pledge of a clear conscience toward God. It saves you by the
resurrection of Jesus Christ.
